The 2250 Main St. address now covers several new things at once. There's a BCycle dock at Superior Civic Space. Two painted murals line the breezeway from the parking garage. The low stage wall of the amphitheatre has a mural, and four painted benches sit between the amphitheatre and the park. The bikes and the art were celebrated on the same Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026. The town held the BCycle launch at Superior Commons Park during the first Superior Mural Festival and Fall Market.
The launch coverage describes a regional network that links Superior to Boulder, Longmont and eventually more cities. That's accurate. Superior's part of the network, though, is shaped differently than that description suggests. In its first month, the system works better for getting around the new art in Downtown Superior than for getting out of town.
What Superior actually got
The town's September Downtown Superior newsletter lists 20 Class 1 electric-assist bikes and 38 docks across four stations.
- Founders Park: 601 W. Coal Creek Dr.
- Community Park: 1350 Coalton Rd.
- Superior Civic Space: 2250 Main St., Suite 1001
- Superior Commons Park: 2375 Creek View Way
The program is a regional partnership led by the City of Longmont and funded by the Colorado Energy Office's Community Accelerated Mobility Project grant. RTD puts that grant at $1.5 million. The partners named in Superior's announcement are Boulder County, Broomfield, Lafayette and Westminster.
The connections that aren't there yet
According to Longmont's program page, stations are currently live in Boulder, Longmont and Superior. Westminster is listed as coming soon, and RTD says more cities are expected to join in 2027. Louisville, the town next door, isn't on the partner list.
The bigger gap for Superior is at US 36 & McCaslin Station. RTD's announcement says a station there is planned and "could" strengthen the link between bikes and buses. For now, none of the four Superior docks is at the park-n-ride. RTD describes the US 36 Bikeway as an 18-mile paved path, 12 feet wide, running from Table Mesa Station to 80th Avenue in Westminster. Without a dock at McCaslin, a trip from Superior onto that corridor has to start at a park or at the Civic Space.
Ride length matters too. The paid passes cover one-hour trips, and a single ride costs $5 for each 15 minutes. Those prices favor short hops. Two of Superior's four docks are within a short ride of a dozen new murals.
The loop: three clusters, two docks
The Street Wise Arts festival map lists 13 festival murals plus a mural by Julie Young and Superior Elementary students on display at Superior Civic Space. Every piece carries the festival theme, "Nature & Regrowth." The festival's own event listing counts 13 new murals, while the map lists 14 entries. The difference is the student piece, which is on display rather than painted on a fixed wall.
Grouped by location, the walls fall into three clusters:
- Superior Commons, starting at the Commons dock. Andrew Norris Arts painted the north side of the restroom at Superior Commons Athletic Fields, which is 2375 Creek View Way, the same address as the dock. A short way along the same street, Onerary's mural covers the north side of the restroom at the Superior Commons Amphitheater, 2130 Creek View Way.
- Main Street, the benches. Tori Evert and Alexa Mae painted the benches on the northeast and southeast corners of Main Street and Marshall Road. One block over at Main and Promenade Drive, Chelsea Hart painted the two benches on the north side and Isaac Lucero the two on the south side.
- Superior Civic Space, ending at the Civic Space dock. Liza Fishbone and Juls Mendoza painted opposite sides of the breezeway between the parking garage and Superior Civic Space. ILL.DES painted the low stage wall of the Civic Space Amphitheatre. Wey Mnky painted four benches between the amphitheatre and the park.
Three pieces sit apart from these clusters, and they're worth the extra pedaling. David Swartz and Naomi Haverland painted the south and north sides of the Marshall Road underpass on the Coal Creek Trail at Downtown Superior Park. Lio-Bravo Bumbakini painted the south and west sides of a brick enclosure in that park's parking lot off S. Marshall Road. The underpass pair is the only part of the collection that sits on a regional trail. If you ride the Coal Creek Trail, you'll pass under these murals on a normal ride.
Riders may find some pieces still being touched up. The town's festival preview said artists would be adding final touches during the Oct. 4 event and talking with visitors about their work. The Daily Camera's preview noted that the format follows Street Wise Arts' festivals in Boulder, where artists paint for a week or two before the public day.
Where to stop on Main Street
The bench murals sit along the same blocks as most of Downtown Superior's storefronts. Here's what the town's Downtown Superior business directory lists near the route as of late summer 2026:
| Address | Businesses listed |
|---|---|
| 2245 Main St. | Studio Pilates, Au'r Hair Salon, Arts Off Center, Originata, Popped 5280 / TotBox 5280 / WanderBooth 5280, Your Pet Staycations, Krak Boba |
| 2250 Main St. | Lily Rae Flowers, Kenn Shui Interior Design, American Family Insurance, Main Street Longevity, Happy Ever After, Colorado Carbon Bicycles |
| 2345 Main St. | Boulder Baked, Halcyon Mind+Body, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt |
| 2154 Main St. | Innana Creations |
The Main and Marshall benches are at 2245 Main, outside Krak Boba and Arts Off Center. Arts Off Center moved to Unit 4 from Superior Marketplace earlier this year. Boulder Baked and Menchie's at 2345 Main are the closest places to sit down for food or a treat. Some businesses in the town's fall roster work by appointment or ask visitors to call first, so check hours before you plan a stop around one of them.
One more food option is on the way. bb.q Chicken is building a Downtown Superior location with a full-service bar. The owners' September update reported patio concrete work, sound isolation being installed and kitchen equipment on site after material delays. No opening date has been given.
What the ride costs after October
For now the loop is free. Superior's October Superior Sentinel lists promo code SUPRMN26 for free rides throughout October. As of Thursday, Oct. 22, that leaves about a week and a half of free riding.
Superior's announcement sends riders to Boulder BCycle and its app, and Boulder BCycle's posted pricing lists these rates. Check the app for the current price before you ride after October.
- Single ride: $5 for up to 15 minutes, plus $5 for each additional 15 minutes
- Guest Pass: $18.60 for unlimited 30-minute trips over 24 hours
- Monthly pass: $32.71 for 30 days of unlimited one-hour trips
- Annual pass: $163.57, about $13.63 a month, for unlimited one-hour trips
- Income-qualified annual pass: $40 plus tax
On the Guest Pass, each extra 30 minutes costs $7.63. The monthly and annual passes charge the same $7.63 after the first hour.
At these prices, the annual pass costs about the same as 33 single 15-minute rides, and the monthly pass about the same as six or seven. A Saturday mural loop with a stop for boba is a good fit for the Guest Pass. Someone riding between the Commons and Main Street a few times a week would pass the annual price within a few months.
Riders must be at least 18. The town encourages helmets, and the bikes can go on streets, bike lanes, multiuse paths and any trail where bicycles are allowed. Since the bikes can be returned to any BCycle dock in the network, you can start at the Commons and finish at the Civic Space without riding back.
Trail work that changes the map next
Two town projects affect how the network fits into Superior's paths. The Rock Creek Parkway bridge and underpass in Purple Park, near the McCaslin and Rock Creek Parkway intersection, is substantially complete and open. The town's projects page also lists a pedestrian crossing at McCaslin Boulevard that would connect the Vista Ridge Trail near Downtown Superior with the Mayhoffer-Singletree Trail. Design began in October 2025, and construction was expected to start in fall 2026.
Combined with the planned dock at US 36 & McCaslin Station, these projects would make Superior's corner of the network more useful for getting out of town. Today, it's four docks, 20 bikes and about a dozen new walls, benches and underpass panels in a small part of town.
